The Super Bowl is more than just a football game—it’s the one event where nearly everyone is watching at the same time. That’s why the halftime show is so significant. Unlike award shows, concerts, or political debates, where viewership is divided, the Super Bowl brings America together for a single moment, a rare instance where we all witness the same thing simultaneously. This is why the halftime performance matters so much. It’s not just entertainment; it’s a statement. In 2004, Puff Daddy—now better known as Diddy—or prison number performed at the Super Bowl alongside Nelly, Kid Rock, and Janet Jackson. That performance came at a time when hip-hop was still fighting for its place in mainstream pop culture. 4th Street Projects: 5H

5 H was the place! It was my favorite place to be for many reasons. Mainly because it was pretty much the meeting place for all my cousins. It also was the place where my grandmother lived Mount Vernon was the City, New York was the State, and the 4th street projects was the domain. I felt the safest at my grandmother’s house in the projects. I lived in many places in my life with low crime. Although the projects could be dangerous, I felt safe at all times. I attribute that to my grandmother. I had many fights, but everyday life prepared me for those fights, so they were rarely faced with fear. I mean I fought because I was afraid, but I didn’t fear fighting. I feared being hurt. I feared my Parents, Grandparents, Aunts and Uncles, NOT my peers. I didn’t like fighting and I believe I cried during every fight I ever had! My grandmother was the nicest, meanest woman you ever could meet. Her nickname was “mad dog”. Prime Time

Winners always stand out, and we gravitate towards them for a myriad of personal reasons. It’s exhilarating when our favorites emerge victorious, but what happens when someone we don’t particularly like succeeds? Do our personal biases matter if victory was earned fairly? There are numerous athletes I may not have liked, but I’ve learned to respect not just their skills, but who they are as individuals. Winning is no cakewalk; greatness is a Herculean task, and becoming the best or the GOAT (Greatest of All Time) borders on the impossible. The journey to the top lacks balance; it’s fueled by obsession, unwavering determination, and a mix of healthy and unhealthy energies. It’s that relentless drive that dismisses words like “can’t” and “NO!” Tim Grover aptly calls it the “dark side” in his book “Relentless”. This is the aspect of greatness that some might find unlikable, but it’s also what propels these individuals toward becoming the best or at least incredibly close to it. Opportunities in the air!

While taking a flight to Daytona beach Florida for a weekend getaway with two of my guy friends, I closely paid attention to people’s habits around me. As I walked through 1st class, I noticed a man frantic on his lap top. I thought to myself, “I hope he works for himself”. I would never be that intense about performing tasks for a company or boss. Then I noticed an older couple relaxed and reading the paper. I could not see what the older gentleman was reading, but I assumed it was something business related. As I made my way to the main cabin, I saw people wiping down their seats and adjusting their masks. I chuckled to myself. After I sat down, I began to watch to see what people would be doing during this flight. I have been on over 100 flights in my lifetime and this was the first time I really watched people! My observations lead me to believe that people want to be entertained, work, sleep and eat/drink while flying. This is not much different than the real world. The people who I noticed reading were reading mystery novels, love novels and enjoyment type books.,...
